This course provides students with the methodological and theoretical foundations necessary to analyze the functioning of modern economies and to interpret historical and contemporary economic developments. Topics include the stylized facts of business cycle fluctuations and long-term economic growth, the determinants of unemployment and inflation, and the effectiveness of monetary and fiscal policies. The course also examines the role of structural reforms in enhancing macroeconomic performance.
